Pastor Dr. Jerome Lee

Rev. Dr. Jerome Lee, Jr. serves as the esteemed senior pastor of St. James Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC where he has been faithfully serving since May, 2011. Under his leadership, St. James is growing spiritually, numerically, and progressively. The church is moving forward in the 21st Century as new ministries are being birthed. Prior to his arrival to St. James, Dr. Lee served for twelve years as the 13th pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Painter, Virginia. Serving God allowed him to not only minister in the United States but has also taken him abroad to West Africa, South Africa, South America and Jamaica, West Indies where he preached and performed missionary work. Dr. Lee served as Second Vice-Moderator for the Eastern Shore of Virginia-Maryland Baptist Association and its Ministries that consisted of 28 churches.

In 2006, Dr. Lee was appointed the Association’s Director of Christian Education, a position he held until he relocated to Greensboro. He also facilitated two 5-day workshops for the Baptist General Convention of Virginia entitled – “How to Change Your Church without Killing It,” and “Leadership Development in Rural Congregations.” His affiliations include the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Kingdom Association of Covenant Pastors and the Hampton University Ministers Conference. Dr. Lee earned both his Doctorate of Ministry degree in May 2015 and Master of Divinity degree in May 2005 from Virginia Union University, Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology. He was licensed in February, 1996 and ordained in August, 1999.

Dr. Lee earned a certificate and a diploma in Christian Ministry from the James P. Boyce College of the Bible of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Lee is married to the former Cynthia J. Adkins of Cheriton, Virginia. He is the son of Jerome Lee, Sr. and Sandra Y. Packett and has one brother, Jeffrey J. Lee. In his spare time, Rev. Lee likes to read, play golf, fish and keep himself apprised of the latest technology trends.

First Lady Lee has always expressed a passion and desire for helping people. Upon graduating from high school, she enrolled at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia in pursuit of a career in Nursing. In 1992, not only did she receive her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing, she also reaffirmed her love for the Lord and joined Gethsemane Baptist Church, Newport News, Virginia under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Dwight S. Riddick, Sr. While at Gethsemane, she graduated from the GBC Bible Institute, served on the Nurses and Samaritans Ministries, was Coordinator for the Young Adult Ministry and, competitively played on the GBC Co-ed Softball team. On November 14, 1992, she married Reverend Jerome Lee, Jr., current Pastor of St. James Baptist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. Prior to coming to St. James, the Lee’s served in ministry at Shiloh Baptist Church, Painter, Virginia.

A professional lady in her own right, Lady Lee is employed by Thomasville City Schools in Thomasville, North Carolina as a Health Science Educator. She has served as the Co-Advisor for the Wise Owl Club. Wise Owl is a mentoring and college prep program. Currently, she serves in ministry, along with her husband, as chairperson of the Women’s Ministry, a Deaconess, mentor and member of the Healthcare and Response Team and coordinator of Line Dance/Exercise class of St. James Baptist Church. Additionally, Lady Lee is continuing her education at Winston Salem State University fulfilling requirements for a Master of Science Degree in Nursing (Advanced Nurse Educator). While Lady Lee finds pleasure in baseball/softball, shopping and traveling, she is truly an anointed woman of God, a true leader with a compassionate heart for people. She possesses a beautiful spirit with a smile to match. Although she’s a woman of dignity, like King David, she doesn’t mind getting undignified for God!
